JLL Partners Hires Alexander R. Castaldi
New York, N.Y. — JLL Partners today announced that Alexander R. Castaldi has joined the firm as Managing Director. Mr. Castaldi will focus primarily on overseeing the firm's portfolio companies. JLL Partners recently closed its Fund IV which will seek to invest primarily in businesses that require capital to grow, or that need to address a variety of challenges, including an over-leveraged balance sheet, inadequate access to capital, operating in a temporarily out-of-favor industry or an inability to take advantage of consolidation opportunities.
Paul S. Levy, founder of JLL Partners said, "We first met Al in 1990 when he was CFO of Kendall International, a restructuring which was very successful for JLL. He has been a hugely successful CFO at three successive LBOs and his experience will help us in better monitoring and interacting with our businesses. Al's understanding and experience of the business issues faced by companies in transition provide us with just the right mix of operating and oversight experience."

Mr. Castaldi was most recently Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Administration Officer of Remington Products Company where he led its financial reorganization following the restructuring of the company. He was also given direct responsibility for the key initial restructurings of manufacturing and logistics. Prior to that, Mr. Castaldi was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Uniroyal Chemical Company where he was hired immediately following the IPO and where he led significant cost reduction programs. From 1990 until 1995, Mr. Castaldi was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Kendall International, Inc. where he led the financial reorganization of the company and spear headed its sale to Tyco. He was also Vice President-Controller of Duracell, Inc. and Uniroyal, Inc. during the 1980's. Mr. Castaldi started his career at KPMG Peat Marwick, where he earned a C.P.A.
